Marianne Koushouris, founder of MDK Interiors, began her design journey long before her studies in Italy. As the daughter of an Italian immigrant (an exquisite tailor of fine clothing) and a Bostonian (the Italian Martha Stewart), her appreciation for creating and seeking beauty goes back as far as she can remember. Her career launched at iconic brands Barneys New York and Calvin Klein, where she created stunning visual displays and interior merchandising for satellite stores across the US. Pivoting to home design, Marianne was appointed Director of Merchandising for Waterworks, a growing luxury bathroom brand. In 2000, after starting her family, she began consulting for clients and MDK Interiors was born.
